Russia strongly condemns the US seizure of tankers off the coast of Venezuela and the imposed naval blockade. This statement was made on December 23 by the Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the United Nations Vasily Nebenzya.

"The United States is illegally destroying civilian vessels in the Caribbean Sea under the pretext of fighting drugs and terrorism. The Russian Federation strongly condemns the US seizure of tankers off the coast of Venezuela and the imposed naval blockade," he said.
