There were five people on board the crashed Falcon 50 aircraft in Turkey. This was announced on December 23 by Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya on the social network X.

"An emergency landing signal was received from the aircraft near the Hayman area, but then it was not possible to contact the airliner again. There are five passengers on board the plane, including the head of the general Staff of the Libyan army, Muhammad al-Haddad," he said.

It is noted that communication with the board was lost at 20:52 local time (coincides with Moscow time).

Earlier in the day, it was reported that the aircraft had disappeared from radar over Ankara. After the loss of the signal, the airspace over the city was closed. Later it became known that the plane had crashed. Eyewitnesses reported reports of a strong explosion near Esenboga Airport.
