The construction of new sewage treatment plants has been completed in the city of Lytkarino, Moscow region. The main directorate of the state construction supervision of the region announced this on Tuesday, December 23.

Glavgosstroynadzor has already issued an opinion on compliance with the construction project. It is planned to put the treatment facilities into operation by the end of December.

After the start of work, the wastewater treatment capacity will increase to 30 thousand cubic meters per day. It is expected that this will solve the problem of overloading of the old sewage treatment plants. The facility will also have a positive impact on the environment.

According to the online publication Podmoskovye Segodnya, the old sewage treatment plants were built in Lytkarina in 1948. The second stage was launched in 1972, and the third in 1989, simultaneously with the decommissioning of the first stage. The new facility will replace the old lines and provide a reserve of capacity for the growth of the city.

The sewage treatment plants were built as part of the federal project "Improving the Volga River" of the national project "Environmental Well-being".
