The first stage of the Kupchino – Shushary – Slavyanka tram line, known as Slavyanka, will be launched on December 24 at 15:00. This was reported on December 23 by the TV channel 78.ru .

The temporary tram route will start from the depot at Novgorodsky Prospekt, 50, and the final stop will be Balkan Square, 5, next to Kupchino metro station. The route will run along Starorussky Avenue in both directions.

According to RBC, the Kupchino – Shushary – Slavyanka tram line project is being implemented on the principle of a public-private partnership through a concession between the city authorities and BaltNedvizhService LLC with the participation of Gazprombank. It is specified that it includes the construction of a 21 km high-speed tram line, three bridges, four overpasses, a tram depot and bus shelters.

The new line is expected to serve at least 13 million passengers per year. The travel time from Kupchino to Slavyanka by tram will be reduced almost twice, to 30-40 minutes. 22 low-floor three-section Nevsky trams will operate on the line.

The governor of the city, Alexander Beglov, announced during a direct line on December 9 that the Yugo-Zapadnaya and Putilovskaya metro stations would open in St. Petersburg by the end of 2025. Then he noted that these metro stations were "almost ready."
