The Kotlas tanker partially sank in the Kola Bay of the Barents Sea. This was reported on December 23 in the press service of the North-Western Transport Prosecutor's Office.

"According to preliminary data, on December 23, 2025, at about 15:30, when the Kotlas tanker was in the waters of the Kola Bay, there was a partial flooding of the engine room at the berth of NT Lavna JSC," the department wrote in the Telegram channel.

The report notes that the crew was not on board and that the special services did not detect a spill of petroleum products.

"The shipowner is pumping out water. A Marine Rescue Service vessel has been sent to the scene," the press service said.

In June 2025, a leak of petroleum products was reported in the Kazachinsky rapid of the Yenisei River in the Krasnoyarsk Territory due to damage to the hull of the ship. The ship suffered hull damage while traveling downstream with two empty barges.
