Friends of a 35-year-old woman from Norilsk, whose five-month-old baby died of exhaustion, told details about the family.

According to them, the child had recently been severely emaciated — the bones were showing so much that the body found in the crib resembled a skeleton. It turned out that the children regularly starved: before leaving for a few days, the mother did not leave them any food or money. The refrigerator was empty, and the apartment was a mess. Upon returning, the woman called an ambulance, but it was not possible to save the child.

Friends also reported that Irina's husband and the father of three younger children systematically beat her and her eldest daughter. In January 2025, he was arrested for domestic violence and later sent to a penal colony. There were also rumors about his unhealthy interest in his 15-year-old stepdaughter, but the Investigative Committee did not confirm this. It is noted that the eldest daughter was withdrawn, with psychological problems, was subjected to pressure and did not make contact. After her husband's arrest, according to Olga's friend, she tried for the sake of the children, and it seemed that she was pulling herself together. Another friend, Evgenia, reported that a nurse and a pediatrician came to the child several times, but the mother did not let them in, limiting herself to notes and calls.

The Investigative Committee clarified that the woman had not worked recently and was living on benefits. The family was not registered, but was in the field of police attention due to problems with the law at the father and administrative violations at the mother.
