The expert warned of fines and liability for the incorrect launch of fireworks

In Russia, the launch of fireworks in violation of fire safety requirements can entail not only heavy fines, but also criminal liability. This was told by fire safety expert Vitaly Boyko.

According to him, fireworks are allowed to be launched within the city's borders only at sites specially designated and coordinated with local authorities.

"In cities, fireworks are allowed only in special areas, which are usually located on the outskirts and away from residential buildings, social facilities, power lines and forests," the expert noted.

At the same time, there is a wide list of places where the use of pyrotechnics is strictly prohibited.

"It is forbidden to launch fireworks in the courtyards of residential buildings, on playgrounds and sports grounds, in parks, on streets and squares, as well as from balconies, loggias and roofs of buildings. The launch of pyrotechnics in the premises is unacceptable, with the exception of sparklers and firecrackers," Boyko stressed.

The expert recalled that administrative liability is provided for violation of fire safety requirements under Article 20.4 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation.

"The fine for citizens ranges from 5,000 to 15,000 rubles, for officials — from 20,000 to 30,000 rubles, for legal entities — from 300,000 to 400,000 rubles," he said.

In more serious cases, criminal liability is also possible.

"If health is harmed, property is damaged or destroyed as a result of the launch of the fireworks, and even more so there has been a death of people, we are already talking about a criminal article. At the same time, criminal liability does not exclude civil claims for damages," the expert explained.

Separately, Vitaly Boyko drew attention to actions in emergency situations. According to him, if the fireworks didn't work, you can't approach them right away.

"It is necessary to take people to a safe distance and wait 10-15 minutes to eliminate delayed triggering. After that, the product should be filled with water and not used anymore," he said.
