Toyota has registered the Camry trademark in Russia

Toyota, which stopped official car sales in Russia in 2022, has registered a trademark in Russia with the name of the popular Camry sedan. As indicated in the open database of the Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent), the trademark was registered on December 23, Izvestia noted.

The copyright holder is Toyota Jidosha Kabusiki Kaisha (also trading as Toyota Motor Corporation). The expiration date of the exclusive right is March 31, 2035.

The trademark is registered under Class No. 12 of the International Classification of Goods and Services (ICTS), which includes passenger cars.

In September 2022, Toyota announced that it would cease production of cars at its plant in St. Petersburg. At the same time, since 2022, the Japanese company has submitted more than 80 trademark registration applications to Rospatent.
