Serbian Foreign Minister expresses strong support for Trump's plan on Ukraine

Serbia strongly supports US President Donald Trump's plan for a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian crisis. The corresponding statement was made on December 23 by Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric.

"Peace in Ukraine is an urgent issue for Europe. Europe is under pressure and must rely on its own strength. We strongly support US President Donald Trump's plan and any other initiatives that could lead to a cessation of hostilities," the minister said in an interview with Spiegel magazine.

He also recalled the proposal to hold talks between Ukraine and Russia on the territory of Serbia. In his opinion, it is convenient for all interested countries to fly to Belgrade, in particular Russia, Ukraine, the USA, China and the EU countries.

Earlier, Djuric had already proposed on October 26 to hold talks between Russia and Ukraine on the settlement of the conflict between the countries on the territory of Serbia. According to the Minister, the conflict must be stopped immediately. He noted that the country supports the territorial integrity and sovereignty of all states in accordance with their borders.
