Negotiations on a settlement in Ukraine should end peacefully, despite the opposition of European countries, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban expressed confidence on December 23.

"It is quite possible that the US-Russian negotiations will be successfully completed, even despite the opposition of Europe. <...> We can be sure of that," the politician said in an interview with TV2.

He noted that after involving Ukrainians in the negotiation process, it will be possible to achieve a more lasting peace.

On the same day, Orban said that the attitude of European citizens towards the Ukrainian conflict was changing. He noted that the financing of Ukraine by European states entails financial consequences.

On December 2, Putin noted that no one had excluded Europe from negotiations on Ukraine, they themselves had stopped contacts with the Russian Federation. According to him, European countries are unhappy with the current results and are now preventing the White House administration from reaching a peaceful settlement.
