In the Trans-Baikal Territory, the incidence of influenza and acute respiratory viral infections decreased by 20.4% in a week. 8621 cases of the disease have been registered, the press service of the regional Rospotrebnadzor reports.

Influenza of the A/H3N2 group is dominant among the viruses. It is better known as Hong Kong. It was confirmed in 73.7% of cases. SARS viruses were detected in 18.7%, and COVID-19 cases in 7.6% of cases. Over the past week, 208 new cases of coronavirus were registered, which is 6.6% less than in the previous week.

Specialists registered a slight decrease, by 3.3%, in the number of group foci of the disease. Restrictive measures are in effect in 112 educational institutions. 77 schools have been converted to distance learning. The work of 30 kindergartens has been suspended. In addition, one secondary specialized educational institution has suspended its work.

Foci of group incidence of acute respiratory viral infections and influenza have been registered in Chita and 22 districts of the region, writes ChitaMedia news agency.

On December 23, it was reported that the rate of increase in the incidence of influenza and acute respiratory viral infections in Russia had almost doubled. According to Rospotrebnadzor, Hong Kong is still the dominant virus. More than 80.7 million Russians have been vaccinated as part of the All-Russian flu vaccination campaign. The ministry added that 11.2 thousand cases of COVID‑19 were registered during the week.
