In 2026, the minimum amount of an old-age insurance pension in the Russian Federation will exceed 14 thousand rubles. This was announced on December 23 by Igor Balynin, an associate professor at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation.

"There is no set minimum amount for an old—age insurance pension, but it can be obtained by calculation," Balynin said in an interview "Газете.Ru ".

The analyst explained that such social benefits are provided to citizens if two basic conditions are met. The first is reaching retirement age (for women — 59 years, for men — 64 years), the second is that the applicant has 30 individual pension coefficients (IPC) and 15 years of insurance experience.

Balynin also added that in 2026, the cost of one IPC will increase to 156.76 rubles, and the amount of the fixed payment will increase to 9584.69 rubles. As a result, the minimum amount of an old-age insurance pension next year will amount to 14,287.49 rubles, the expert noted.

Ekaterina Stenyakina, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs, announced on December 23 that pensions for working pensioners in Russia next year will be indexed by 7.6% in January and again in August.

Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said on December 22 that the government would continue to index pensions for working citizens. He added that the government has also provided for a further increase in the level of pension provision for Russians.
