- Muscovites and tourists have sent more than 70,000 retro postcards as part of the Winter Mail project
Since the launch of the Winter Mail project in December, Muscovites and tourists have sent more than 70,000 retro postcards with New Year's wishes. This was told by the organizers of the event.
The project offers the opportunity to send a postcard with warm wishes to family and friends, as well as Santa Claus. For this purpose, festive post offices have been organized in more than 50 locations in the city, including the venues of the Journey to Christmas festival, where visitors can choose a card with a winter story. Rare postcards from the archive of the State Historical Museum were used to create the images.
Pechkin, the postman, helps to arrange letters at the central site of the festival on Manezhnaya Square. After signing the postcard, it can be dropped into the mailbox — sending in Russia is free.
Winter Mail is a project that speaks the language of warmth and memories. It was specially created in our digital age to give people the opportunity to slow down, choose their words thoughtfully and convey their emotions in a truly tangible way, through paper," the organizers noted.
More than 200 thousand postcards were produced for the project. Then, due to the popularity of the project, more than 90 thousand postcards were printed.
The Journey to Christmas Festival runs from December 12 to January 11. Workshops, winter Games and other events are held at various venues in the city. The festival is organized within the framework of the "Winter in Moscow" project.
