Experts learned about the attitude of Russians to AI content

The majority of Russians use artificial intelligence in everyday tasks, according to a study conducted by Ingosstrakh and the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation in 37 of Russia's largest cities by population.

According to the survey, almost 53% of residents of cities with millions resort to AI technologies. Another 42% of Russians know about them, but do not use them. AI tools are most actively used in Voronezh and Yekaterinburg (66% each), St. Petersburg and Samara (63% each), Moscow and Izhevsk (60% each). Novokuznetsk (35%) and Makhachkala (37%) are the least affected.

Artificial intelligence is most often used to prepare presentations, graphs, illustrations, create and edit images, as well as to search for information. AI also helps Russians solve educational problems and prepare for exams, write and edit texts, process and analyze data.

Russians' attitude to AI content remains ambiguous: 26% of respondents treat the generated photos and videos neutrally, 17% rather negatively, and another 14% of respondents positively. 48% of respondents can distinguish synthetic videos from real ones, and 26% can distinguish the generated image from the real one.

Almost 40% of Russians are concerned about the development of AI. It is mainly related to deepfakes and fraud. The majority of respondents (64%) still prefer live communication rather than interacting with digital characters.

Such technologies help you answer standard questions faster, navigate products, and reduce waiting times. At the same time, live communication always remains at the center of our customer service. In difficult or non—standard situations, the client interacts with an employee who can take into account the context, emotions and offer the best solution," commented Konstantin Lokshin, Director of the Customer Experience and Production System Department at Ingosstrakh.
