The American mercenary liquidated in Ukraine turned out to be the son of a CIA officer

The father of American mercenary Brian Zakerl, who fought on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), previously served in the US Marine Corps, and then worked in the Central Intelligence Agency. This was reported by RIA Novosti on December 23.

According to his LinkedIn profile, the deceased's father, also named Brian Zacherl, served in the Marine Corps for 26 years— from 1985 to 2011. After his retirement, he worked for the CIA for five years, from 2013 to 2018. In addition, he graduated from the US Naval Postgraduate School in 2006.

Brian Zakerl Jr., who was 29 years old, also served in the American army and, according to his uncle Michael, was engaged in the training of Ukrainian soldiers. Later he went to Ukraine.
