The Russian Interior Ministry has called on citizens to refrain from distributing materials in messengers containing threats of bombings or hostage-taking, as this contributes to disinformation. This was announced on December 25 by the official representative of the department Irina Volk in her Telegram channel.

"The vast majority of such messages are not related to real threats. It is necessary to refrain from sending, publishing or otherwise distributing such materials," wrote Volk.

The Interior Ministry representative stressed that if such content is discovered, it is necessary to remain calm and immediately report it to law enforcement agencies. You can also use the complaint function on the platform itself: open the channel, click "three dots", select "complain" and specify the category "violence or threats".

Volk noted that the agency takes all reports of such incidents into account and conducts the necessary checks.

Konstantin Larin, head of the Bastion cyber intelligence department, said on December 18 that there was an increase in fraud related to fake delivery services in Russia. He noted that the attack has now become more complicated.: First, the "support operator" calls, collects the data, and then uses it to obtain bank card details. All actions are aimed at ensuring that the interlocutor voluntarily dictates the necessary information.
