Russians faced delays in international shipments

Russians are faced with increasing delays in the delivery of international parcels due to an increase in the volume of shipments and the complexity of customs procedures. This was announced on December 23 by representatives of the associations of transport, logistics and postal courier companies of RBC.

"During the peak period, the post office mobilized additional resources to speed up the delivery of international shipments, attracted staff for part—time work at facilities and additional transport," the publication says.

It is noted that the main increase in delays is observed at the first stage of international delivery — outside the country, where the volume of goods shipped has increased and customs procedures have become more complicated.

Experts also note the impact of the seasonal influx of orders, weather conditions and congestion at the borders, while internal logistics is operating normally. For Russian sellers, the situation opens up a strategic advantage: their goods reach customers faster than foreign parcels.
