Forecasters predicted snow and up to -11 degrees in Moscow on December 23
Cloudy with clarifications, mostly without precipitation, icy conditions, sometimes severe — such weather awaits residents of the capital region on Tuesday, December 23. The corresponding forecast is published on the website of the Hydrometeorological Center.
The air temperature in Moscow will range from -9 to -11 degrees during the day. At night, the thermometer will drop to -16.
In the Moscow region, it will be from -8 to -13 degrees during the day, and at night the temperature may drop to -19 degrees.
A northwesterly wind with a speed of 4-9 m/s is expected.
Atmospheric pressure will be 754-756 mmHg.
On December 19, Alexander Shuvalov, head of the Meteo forecasting center, predicted "truly wintry" weather for the New Year. According to him, the first waves of cold weather will cover the capital and its region from Tuesday to Thursday— December 23-25. Snow may fall in this area on December 28 and 29. Shuvalov stressed that a reliable forecast is clear only for seven days.
