Roskomnadzor reported on possible restrictions regarding the WhatsApp messenger if violations of Russian law continue.

"The messenger is used to organize and carry out terrorist actions on the territory of the country, to recruit their perpetrators, for fraudulent and other crimes against our citizens," the RCN said in a statement.

The ministry stressed that in case of further non-compliance with the requirements of Russian legislation, restrictions against WhatsApp will increase, and if ignored, the messenger may be completely blocked.
