- The media reported on the US report on China's alleged deployment of missiles near the border of Mongolia
The US Department of War believes that China could allegedly deploy missiles on the border with Mongolia. This was reported in Reuters on December 22 with reference to the draft report of the ministry.
"The report stated that China has probably deployed more than 100 solid-fuel DF—31 intercontinental ballistic missiles in silos near China's border with Mongolia, the latest in a series of such facilities. Earlier, the Pentagon reported on the existence of these mines, but did not specify the number of loaded missiles," the article says.
U.S. officials have noted that the report may change before it is sent to lawmakers. The report said China's nuclear warhead stockpile in 2024 still stood at about 600 units, reflecting a "slower production rate compared to previous years."
Earlier, the Washington Post wrote on December 18 that the satellites of the United States and China entered into an "orbital battle", carrying out espionage activities against each other, in February 2022. The meeting of the satellites of the superpowers took place at an altitude of about 22,000 miles (35.4 thousand km) above the Earth. Since 2022, none of the parties has recognized the battle of aircraft in outer space.
