Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Turchin discussed joint projects in the energy and industrial sectors. This was reported on December 22 in the Telegram channel of the government of Belarus.

"Alexander Turchin and Mikhail Mishustin, Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, had a telephone conversation. Topical issues of trade, economic, scientific and technical bilateral cooperation were discussed, including joint projects in the field of energy, industry, and agriculture," the message says.

It is specified that the parties confirmed their intention to further strengthen the strategic partnership of the countries.

On December 9, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed a law ratifying the agreement on the formation of a unified electric energy market with Russia. Before the law was approved in the first readings, Russian Energy Minister Denis Moroz said that the creation of a unified energy market would increase the efficiency and reliability of energy supply, as well as reduce costs associated with the production and transportation of electricity in the future.

On December 19, Russian President Vladimir Putin said during the "Results of the Year" that Russia and Belarus were closely cooperating with each other on the security of the Union State, and it was "in safe hands." He added that the military personnel of Russia and Belarus regularly conduct joint exercises.
