Lavrov and the Venezuelan Foreign Minister discussed the escalating actions of the United States in the Caribbean Sea

During a telephone conversation, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his Venezuelan counterpart Ivan Gil expressed serious concern about Washington's escalating actions in the Caribbean. The relevant information was published on the official website of the Russian Ministry on December 22.

"The ministers expressed serious concern about Washington's escalating actions in the Caribbean Sea, which are fraught with far—reaching consequences for the region and pose a threat to international navigation," the statement said.

Lavrov, in turn, confirmed the full support of Venezuela from the Russian side. The foreign ministers also agreed to continue contacts and coordinate steps on international platforms, primarily at the UN.
