Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree establishing the new title of "Honored Officer of the National Guard of the Russian Federation." The relevant document was published on December 22 on the official Internet portal of legal information.

"In order to further improve the state award system of the Russian Federation, I hereby decree: 1. To establish the honorary title "Honored Officer of the National Guard of the Russian Federation," the document says.

The decree came into force on the day of its signing.

The title will be awarded to Rosgvardiya employees for their personal achievements in protecting public order, protecting cargo, and fighting terrorism. Employees with achievements in training qualified personnel and in scientific and technical support of the Russian Guard troops will also be awarded.

Earlier, in January 2024, Putin signed a decree establishing the honorary title of "Honored Worker of Local Self-Government" in Russia. It is noted that the honorary title will be awarded to local government officials for their personal achievements in the development of this industry, the implementation of certain state powers, solving issues of the population of municipalities and for other professional achievements.
