WhatsApp messenger (owned by Meta, a company recognized as extremist in Russia) continues to violate Russian law. This was announced on December 22 by the press service of Roskomnadzor (RCN).

"The messenger is used to organize and carry out terrorist actions on the territory of the country, to recruit their perpetrators, for fraudulent and other crimes against our citizens," the RCN said in a statement.

The ministry recalled that if WhatsApp continues to violate Russian law, the introduction of restrictions will continue, and if the requirements are not met, the messenger will be completely blocked.

On the same day, Russian users complained about WhatsApp's malfunction. At 13:28 Moscow time, the number of complaints has already exceeded 1,700. Most of the complaints were registered from Moscow and St. Petersburg. The top 5 also includes the Moscow, Voronezh and Vladimir regions.
