A maximum of 10 Oreshnik missile systems will be deployed in Belarus. This was announced by President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko on December 22.

"A dozen will be the maximum," BelTA quoted him as saying.

This is how the Belarusian leader answered a journalist's question about the number of Oreshnik complexes deployed in Belarus.

Earlier, on December 19, Russian President Vladimir Putin said during the "Results of the Year" that Russia and Belarus were closely cooperating with each other on security issues of the Union State. He added that the military personnel of Russia and Belarus regularly conduct joint exercises, and the defense departments closely cooperate with each other.

On the same day, Lukashenko announced that the Oreshnik was on combat duty in the republic. The Belarusian leader also denied information about the location of the complex in Slutsk, specifying that the information about its location is not true.
