Insurers warned about the rise in CTP prices in 2026
The long period of reduction in the average CTP price has ended, and in 2026 there will be an increase in the average cost of the avtograzhdanka policy by 5-8%. This was stated by Evgeny Ufimtsev, president of the Russian Union of Motor Insurers (RSA), according to the union's Telegram channel on December 22.
"We can say preliminarily that during 2026 the cost of a basket of spare parts according to reference books will increase, and as a result, the total amount of CTP payments will increase by 5-8%. Based on this, we expect a corresponding increase in the CTP insurance premium," Ufimtsev said.
According to the head of the RSA, the main part of insurance payments in CTP for compensation of damage caused to vehicles falls on spare parts — about 80% of all payments for repairs, while the share remains almost unchanged against the background of an overall increase in the volume of these payments. Ufimtsev also noted that during 2025, the increase in the cost of a basket of spare parts according to reference books averaged 5%.
The RSA stated that insurers had been able to restrain the growth of the average CTP premium for a long time, despite the increase in payments. According to the results of January-October 2025, the average payment for annual policies showed an increase of 16% compared to the 10 months of 2024 and reached 115.8 thousand rubles, while the average premium decreased by 4.9% to 7275 rubles.
Earlier, on December 19, the RSA announced the introduction of new directories of the average cost of spare parts, which are used for CTP calculations. The cost of spare parts in them remained almost unchanged compared to the previous version of the reference books (-1%), however, an increase was noted for a number of brands.
On December 9, the rules for calculating the cost of CTP policies changed in Russia. The tariff corridor has been expanded by 15% in both directions for almost all types of transport. The exception was motorcycles, for which the expansion was 40%. For passenger cars owned by individuals, insurance companies will be able to set a tariff in the range of 1399-8665 rubles.
