Europe's economic policy has led to stagnation, and migration policy has led to discontent among the population. This was announced on December 22 by US Vice President Jay Dee Vance in an interview with the British portal UnHerd.

"The economic policies [of European states] have caused deep stagnation on the continent. Their migration policy has caused an extremely negative reaction from the indigenous population," Vance said.

He also expressed the opinion that European countries have lost their understanding of their own identity and are in "cultural stagnation." The politician noted that the United States wants to see Europe stronger, but stressed that European states will have to do a lot in this direction themselves.

Earlier, on December 20, Michele Gerach, former Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Italy, Emeritus professor at the School of Economics of Peking University, said that European leaders, in particular the head of the European Commission (EC) Ursula von der Leyen, who proposed freezing Russian assets, deliberately undermine the foundation of the Western financial system. Geraci noted that due to the freezing of assets, investors lost confidence in European banks, which began to seem less secure.

On December 19, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted Russia's readiness to work with the United States, Europe and Britain exclusively on equal terms. According to him, the parties should treat each other with respect, as everyone will benefit from this in the end.
