Russia has increased imports of grapes from China to record levels

In November 2025, grape shipments from China to Russia increased significantly, reaching record levels. The volume of shipments amounted to 9.3 thousand tons, which is 1.4 times more than in October, and more than three times higher than in November last year, RIA Novosti reported on December 22, citing Chinese customs data.

It is noted that the growth is due to the popularity of the grape variety "shine muscat", which has become in demand among Russian consumers. In price terms, the growth is even more noticeable: shipments increased 1.8 times in a month and 3.6 times in a year, bringing profits to a record $17.4 million.

In total, for 11 months of 2025, China supplied 41.1 thousand tons of grapes to Russia, which is 2.5 times more than in the whole of 2024. The cost of supplies amounted to $68.6 million.

On the same day, it was reported that China had shipped cheese to Russia for the first time. As follows from the data of the Chinese customs, 8 tons of cheese were delivered with a total value of $93 thousand, the grade is not specified.
