More than 50% of Russians will use AI when planning the New Year

More than half of Russians already use or plan to use services based on artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to generate greetings, search for gifts and recipes for the New Year holidays. This was shown by a VTB survey conducted on the eve of the New Year.

63% of Russians use AI to generate greetings. 12% of respondents reported that they plan to use AI to congratulate colleagues at work and distant acquaintances. 37% of respondents will not turn to AI for help in generating New Year's wishes, because, in their opinion, congratulations should be unique and sincere.

Also, more than half of Russians (55%) see the potential for using AI in search of gifts for the New Year. At the same time, 45% of the country's residents treat the search for gifts "very reverently" and believe that there is "no place for AI" in such a personal matter.

Russians (62% of respondents) see the use of AI as promising for the formation of a New Year's table — the search for new recipes, fresh ideas, as well as the selection of restaurants or food delivery services for the New Year's feast. The remaining 38% of respondents do not see the point in using AI for New Year's cuisine.

Russians also tend to entrust their leisure time to artificial intelligence — 64% intend to use AI to plan activities for the New Year holidays, including scheduling. 37% of the respondents plan to rely on themselves, as well as relatives and friends in shaping the New Year's program.

"Using the example of New Year's activities, the VTB survey showed that artificial intelligence technologies are penetrating into all areas of our lives," said Maxim Konovalikhin, head of VTB's Data analysis and Modeling Department, Senior Vice President of the bank. The Bank is actively developing digital assistants based on large language models, various artificial intelligence algorithms, and the analysis of large amounts of data.
