Stellar Motor Rus recalled almost 4 thousand Foton cars in Russia

The Stellar Motor Rus company, which is the official representative of the Chinese Foton brand in Russia, announced the recall of more than 3.9 thousand Foton Aumark M4L trucks due to documentary violations. This was announced by Rosstandart on December 22.

The reason for the recall was discrepancies in the declared parameters of the maximum engine power: the indicator indicated on the nameplate of the engine manufacturer does not correspond to what is indicated in the documentation.

The campaign involves 3,488 Aumark M4L chassis sold between 2022 and 2025 (elimination of documentary violations) and 446 chassis manufactured between 2022 and 2024 but not yet implemented (for repair intervention). Jobs for car owners will be free of charge.

"The engine nameplate will be replaced on all vehicles, indicating the maximum power in accordance with UN Regulations," Rosstandart said.

Administrative liability is threatened for the sale of dangerous trucks.

Earlier, the agency revealed various violations based on the results of unscheduled on-site inspections of official representative offices of car manufacturers. As a result, the validity of conformity assessment documents issued for trucks was suspended. So, on October 17, Rosstandart agreed on another recall program to eliminate documentary violations against Sinotrak Rus, which represents Sitrak and Howo truck brands in Russia.
