A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. Units of the North group of forces have actively taken control of the village of Vilcha, Kharkiv region. Formations of the mechanized, jaeger brigade, the assault regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) and the air defense brigade were defeated in the areas of the settlements of Andreevka, Grabovskoye, Pisarevka, Boyaro-Lezhachi, Ryzhevka and Alekseevka of the Sumy region. In the Kharkiv direction, units of the mechanized and two motorized infantry brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were defeated in the areas of the settlements of Ternovaya, Izbitskoye and Rubezhnoye in the Kharkiv region. The Ukrainian Armed Forces lost up to 90 soldiers, a tank, an armored combat vehicle, seven vehicles and an artillery piece.
"The units of the Zapad group of forces have improved their position along the front line. The manpower and equipment of two mechanized, airmobile, assault brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the National Guard brigade were defeated in the areas of the settlements of Podoly, Berezovka, Kupyansk-Uzlovaya, Kharkiv region, Dibrova, Drobyshevo, Ilyichovka and Krasny Liman of the Donetsk People's Republic. The losses of the Ukrainian armed forces amounted to 215 military personnel, an HMMWV armored vehicle made in the USA, an Iveco armored combat vehicle made in Italy, 16 vehicles and a self—propelled artillery installation," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.
Units of the Center group of forces continued the destruction of the encircled enemy in the city of Dimitrov in the Donetsk People's Republic and the cleansing of the settlements of Grishino and Rodinskoye in the Donetsk People's Republic from scattered formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The manpower and equipment of two mechanized, two amphibious assault, infantry, jaeger, and airmobile brigades, two assault regiments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the Azov special forces brigade were defeated. The enemy's losses amounted to more than 450 military personnel, three armored combat vehicles, four pickup trucks and two field artillery guns.
The Vostok group of troops continued to advance into the depths of the enemy's defenses. The manpower and equipment of the assault brigade, three assault regiments of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the air defense brigade were defeated in the areas of the settlements of Kosovtsevo, Dorozhnyanka, Gulyai-Pole, Zaporizhia region and Andreevka, Dnipropetrovsk region. The Ukrainian Armed Forces lost up to 250 soldiers, two armored combat vehicles and seven vehicles.
The Russian army, with the help of aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), missiles and artillery, defeated energy facilities, port and warehouse infrastructure used in the interests of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, launch sites for long-range unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as headquarters and temporary locations of Ukrainian armed forces and foreign mercenaries in 142 areas. In turn, air defense systems shot down 76 aircraft-type drones.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, since the beginning of the special operation, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost 669 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 104,090 UAVs, 640 anti-aircraft missile systems, 26,653 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,634 multiple launch rocket launchers, 32,082 field artillery and mortars, 49,742 units of special military vehicles.
