Moskalkova announced the transfer of 45 Ukrainians to be deported to Kiev.
Russia handed over to Ukraine 45 citizens who were subject to expulsion from the Russian Federation. This was announced on December 22 by the Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia, Tatyana Moskalkova, at a meeting of the State Duma committee.
"We also handed over 45 Ukrainian citizens who were subject to expulsion and wanted to return," she told RIA Novosti.
The transfer took place on December 16 in Belarus. On the same day, as part of the humanitarian action, the reunification of 22 families was organized, as well as the return to Russia of 15 Russian citizens who were in Ukraine.
The Ombudsman stressed that all the transferred Ukrainians expressed a desire to return to their homeland. The action was carried out in coordination with the Belarusian side and the Commissioner for Human Rights in Ukraine.
On November 18, Moskalkova appealed to Kiev with a request to take back Ukrainians rescued by Russian servicemen from the war zone who want to return to their homeland. The citizens of Ukraine, as she noted, lived in Kursk at that time.
Later, on December 11, Moskalkova pointed out the unwillingness of the Ukrainian side to accept its fellow citizens rescued by the Russian army. She called such actions by Kiev incomprehensible.
