Thanks to the work of specialists and veterans of the Russian energy industry, an efficient energy system has been created in the country, which has become a reliable base for the development of regions and the domestic economy. This was announced on December 22 by Russian President Vladimir Putin, congratulating industry workers on their professional holiday.
He noted that the adoption of the Russian State Electrification Plan (GOELRO) in the country 105 years ago was a significant and truly historic event for him.
"Thanks to the dedicated work of scientists, engineers, builders, and specialists, a modern, efficient energy system was created in a short time, which became a reliable base for the development of regions and strategic sectors of the domestic economy," the telegram says on the Kremlin's website.
Modernizing the network infrastructure, increasing generating capacities, and widespread implementation of digital and resource–saving technologies in all parts of the complex are among the current key priorities in the industry, the Russian leader pointed out. All these points are contained in the recently approved Energy Strategy of the Russian Federation until 2050.
"I am confident that you will continue to fulfill your professional duties with dignity and make a significant contribution to strengthening Russia's technological sovereignty," Putin said.
Earlier, on December 19, during the "Results of the Year", Putin promised to pay attention to the energy sector of the Northern regions. He noted that the coal component of the energy sector is developing well in Yakutia, but it is possible to think about other sources of energy — gas and oil components.
