Trump appoints Louisiana Governor Landry as Special Envoy to Greenland
On December 21, US President Donald Trump appointed Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry to the post of US special Envoy to Greenland.
"I am pleased to announce the appointment of the great Governor of Louisiana, Jeff Landry, as the United States Special Envoy to Greenland. Jeff understands how important Greenland is to our national security," reads a post on Truth Social.
Trump clarified that Landry would advance the interests of the United States in ensuring the security, protection and survival of American allies.
On November 9, Trump announced that lawyer John Cole had been appointed to the post of special envoy to Belarus. It was clarified that the name of Cole, who was appointed to this post, was associated with a major victory in the so-called tobacco business.
