- Kuznetsov, who completed the journey from Kazan to Jerusalem, revealed the details of the trip
Nikita Kuznetsov, a resident of Tatarstan, completed his walking route from Kazan to Jerusalem. He shared the details of his journey in an interview with Izvestia on December 21.
"People saw that I was walking and I needed some kind of help - they ran out, helped me, invited me to their house, fed me. I went into the store and they didn't take money from me, as well as in the establishments where I ate," Kuznetsov said.
The man shared that it was physically hardest to cross the Caucasus Mountains in Georgia, and the moral burden was felt in Russia in the first month, because then only his relatives knew about his path. Also, according to Kuznetsov, he had to face difficulties in Iraq, as he often had to travel accompanied by police and the army. At the same time, it was the most fun part of the journey, the man added.
The traveler noted that on the road he "seemed to be walking with God by the hand" — he was lucky with the weather, and all his wishes suddenly came true.
"There were moments when it was hard for me, the weather was hot. <...> I stopped, took off my backpack, and said, "I can't walk anymore, I'm hot." <...> And now, the weather is clear, as it happens in cartoons, and a cloud is coming right over me," Kuznetsov admitted.
At the end of the route, the traveler shared that he felt "devastated" because the goal had been achieved, but he had not yet set himself a new one. The journey took him 204 days.
On September 26, Kuznetsov told how he decided to embark on the adventure he had started. According to the traveler, he had practically no doubts about accepting the challenge he had spontaneously set himself. However, he told only those closest to him about his plans — his mother and a few friends — in order not to listen to warnings that would come from outsiders.
