Russian athletes were awarded points for underwear at the World Cup in pylon sports
A duo of Russian athletes at the World Pole Vault Championships in Budapest, Hungary, on December 20 were stripped of points due to underwear.
The duo confidently performed the program of the performance and went to the bronze medal. However, the judge examined a piece of beige underwear peeking out from under the stage costume, which is why he removed the points and the Russian athletes took 4th place.
"We were ready for everything, but not for what happened on it. I've always performed in this underwear — it's competitive underwear. I performed with this costume and this underwear at the Russian Championships, everything was fine. It was very insulting, it was hard to accept, but this is sport, this is life," said athlete Sofia Mammadova.
On October 25, the international ballroom dancing tournament Russia Open DanceSport was held in Moscow, which was attended by more than 2 thousand participants, despite the sanctions. Dancing couples competed in two programs — European and Latin American.
