About 5,000 people in the Kursk region were left without electricity as a result of a Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) strike on an energy infrastructure facility. This was announced on December 20 by the governor of the region, Alexander Khinstein.

"Tonight, an enemy drone attacked an energy infrastructure facility in the Kursk region. About 5,000 consumers were left without electricity," he said in a message on his Telegram channel.

According to the governor, specialists will soon begin restoration work.

On the same day, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the air defense forces had shot down seven Ukrainian drones over the Belgorod region. It was clarified that the UAVs were of an airplane type.
