After the conflict is resolved, Ukraine will not be able to maintain an 800,000-strong army on its own. The country needs the participation of "partners" for this. This was announced on December 20 by Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky.

"Is Ukraine capable of financing such an army in the event of an end to the <conflict>? No, I'm not capable, I don't have enough financial resources. Therefore, I am conducting a dialogue with [EU] leaders, because I consider partial financing of our army at the expense of partners as a guarantee of security for us," the Ukrainian News.LIVE portal posted a recording of Zelensky's speech on the Telegram channel.
