Sergeant Major Basang Slinkin, performing a combat mission to protect the artillery area of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the area of a special military operation, prevented a sabotage group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) from entering Russian positions. On Saturday, December 20, the Russian Ministry of Defense told about the exploits of the servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

While monitoring the approaches to the positions from a camouflaged observation post, Sergeant Major Slinkin discovered the movement of a group of Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers. After analyzing the route of their movement, he reported on the detected objects by radio, and then secretly moved to a more advantageous firing position. After waiting for the saboteurs to enter the open area, Slinkin destroyed two of the saboteurs with accurate fire, and the rest began to retreat, abandoning the dead.

The ministry clarified that thanks to the bold and decisive actions of Sergeant Major Basang Slinkin, the camouflaged positions of the Russian artillery were not revealed, and the enemy suffered losses in manpower.

The Ministry of Defense also told about the feat performed by junior Sergeant Aybulat Khamzi, who led the assault group, which was tasked with capturing the fortified stronghold of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. A group of Ukrainian militants was destroyed under his leadership.

Hamzi, having assessed the situation and reconnoitered the enemy's firing points, decided to divide the assault group: the first part of it tied up the enemy in battle, and the second attacked the Ukrainian Armed Forces from the rear with an unexpected throw. Thanks to these competent actions, the combat mission was completed with minimal losses — the assault group was able to gain a foothold and wait for reinforcements to continue offensive operations from a favorable fortified position.

Vladimir Putin summed up the results of the year in the SVR zone, noting the critical depletion of Kiev's resources and the desperate situation of the encircled enemy groups.

On December 14, the Ministry of Defense reported that the commander of a tank company, Senior Lieutenant Renat Alzhanov, destroyed an ammunition depot of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the area of the SVO during a combat mission. He stealthily brought his combat vehicle to a firing position and launched a fire attack, which resulted in the destruction of both his warehouse and the enemy's manpower of up to five people.
