Analysts have pointed to a decline in the popularity of new pickups in Russia

In 2025, the market for new pickups in Russia decreased by 26%, from January to November, 19.5 thousand such vehicles were sold in the country compared to 26.6 thousand in the same period a year earlier. This was announced on December 19 by experts from Autostat Info.

By the end of November, 1986 new pickups were sold, which is 23% less than a year ago. After the October surge to 2,339 cars, the market fell back by 15%.

In 11 months, sales of the JAC brand in this market segment decreased by 14%, Sollers — by 16%, UAZ — by 40%, Changan — by 34%. Great Wall lost almost half of its volume (-49%), while Mitsubishi and Toyota lost even more (-52% and -63%, respectively).

Positive dynamics was recorded only by RAM (+7%), Foton (+129%) and Ford (+30%) brands, which is associated with a low base and spot supplies. JAC T9, UAZ Pickup and Changan Hunter Plus, as well as Great Wall Poer and Sollers ST6 are the leaders among the models from January to November.

"In 2025, the market for new pickups in Russia has finally consolidated its niche status, where every percentage is a struggle for a very specific customer. <...> For most of the year, sales are held between 1.4—1.9 thousand cars per month with rare emissions, which indicates not a failure of demand "to zero", but a gradual washing out some of the customers in favor of crossovers and used pickups," the experts noted.
