Putin: significant inflation largely depends on the food basket

How people feel about inflation largely depends on their food basket and price changes for specific products. This was announced on December 19 by Russian President Vladimir Putin, commenting on the macroeconomic indicators of inflation in the country.

"Inflation, for example, is food-related, in some other areas, it may be higher, and it is higher...> If this food basket consists mainly of protein products — meat, chicken meat, <...> then, of course, this affects the family budget," he said during the "Results of the Year" program.
