The KHL referee used foul language against Lokomotiv coach Bob Hartley in the regular season match with CSKA. The incident occurred during a meeting on December 18 during the second period.

Lokomotiv was awarded a throw-in, but after reviewing the replay, the judges decided to take the throw-in to the middle zone. At the same time, Hartley accompanied each decision with a violent reaction. Before the start of the face-off, the referee commented on his behavior.

"He doesn't know what to say. <...> Grandfather is shaking," the referee said, concluding his statement with obscene language.

The match ended with a score of 2:1 in favor of Lokomotiv following the results of the shootout.

Earlier, KHL referee Denis Naumov swore obscenely at Avangard head coach Mikhail Kravets. In one episode, the referee, who had previously played under Kravets at Spartak St. Petersburg, yelled at the coach and rudely asked him to shut up.
