The number of carsharing accidents decreased by a third in St. Petersburg

In St. Petersburg, from the beginning of 2025 to November, the number of accidents caused by carsharing users decreased by 21% compared to the same period in 2024. These are the data from the Delimobil service study.

It is noted that the number of such road accidents caused by car-sharing machines has decreased in all 16 cities of presence. Yekaterinburg was among the leaders in terms of decrease (-41%). This is followed by Nizhny Novgorod (-38%) and St. Petersburg (-31%). In Moscow, carsharing accidents decreased by 18%, writes 78.ru .

The study says that carsharing users have become more disciplined on the roads. So, since the beginning of the year, the number of traffic violations recorded by cameras has decreased by 26%. They exceed the speed limit by 24% less often, and violate the marking by 42%.

In mid-November, it was reported that the draft law on localization of carsharing vehicles is under discussion in the government. This was stated by the head of the Federation Council Committee on Economic Policy Andrey Kutepov. He said that in 2026, the project "may take real shape." Kutepov took the initiative to use cars localized in the country in carsharing in May of this year. He pointed out that the share of Chinese cars in the fleets of some carsharing operators, according to various sources, ranged from 30 to 50% back in 2023.
