Roads partially blocked in the Kola Arctic due to the weather
In the Murmansk region, in the Kola Arctic, restrictions apply on some sections of roads. The reason is the weather conditions.
According to Bi-port news agency with reference to Murmanskavtodor, restrictions apply on the section of the Kola highway, on the Serebryanka to Teriberka and on the Zapolyarny –Salmiyarvi road.
So, since midnight, the movement of trucks and public transport has been restricted on the section of the Kola highway from 1149th to 1262nd km. You can wait out the bad weather in special parking lots. And from 2:00 a.m., the Kola – Serebryanskiye HPPs road was closed from 32 to 136 km to Tumannoye, as well as the access road to Teriberka. On the Zapolyarny – Salmiyarvi road, traffic was closed from 0 to 23 km.
The agency notes that temperatures are expected to rise to 0 degrees in the Murmansk region. Strong winds and snowstorms are possible in some places, as well as heavy snow.
Earlier it was reported that cloudy weather will remain in Moscow this weekend, without significant precipitation, with a temperature background significantly exceeding the climatic norm. Starting next week, a change in atmospheric circulation is expected: the westerly flow will change to the northwesterly, and then to the north. Cold air advection will begin on December 23rd, which will lead to a sharp drop in temperature during the day.
