The Ukrainian Armed Forces shot civilians who did not want to evacuate in Seversk
Russian President Vladimir Putin suggested asking questions about the situation in Seversk directly to the combatant, Hero of Russia, Commander Naran Ochir-Goryaev. He said this on December 19 during the "Results of the Year", which are summed up in a direct line format combined with a press conference.
Speaking at the event, Putin noted that he had previously received reports from the Chief of the General Staff on the situation in this area, as well as personally communicated with the commanders of units that took part in the battles.
"If you have any questions about the situation in Seversk, you can ask him [Commander Naran Ochir-Goryaev] directly," the president said, giving the floor to the Hero of Russia.
The Head of State recalled that he had previously asked the commander of the brigade that fought in the area about the reliability of control over the city. According to him, the commander then reported on the advance of Russian units west of Seversk.
In addition, Putin said that just the day before yesterday, representatives of the Ministry of Defense awarded Russian servicemen who distinguished themselves in combat missions.
A direct line with the president in 2025 is combined with a press conference for the media. The format called "Results of the Year with Vladimir Putin" allows the head of state to convey his position not only on citizens' issues, but also on the state and global agenda, which is often asked by journalists.
The direct line has been running since 2001. The event is being held for the fourth time in a combined format with a large press conference.
