Yuri Ivanov, a lawyer for the Popular Front, warned Russians on December 19 about possible fines of up to 50,000 rubles for unsafe use of pyrotechnics.

"For violation of the use of pyrotechnics, administrative liability is provided in the form of a fine for violation of fire safety rules in the amount of 5 to 15 thousand rubles for the use of fireworks with violations. If a fire breaks out or minor harm is caused to human health, the fine will range from 40 to 50 thousand rubles," he said in an interview with TASS.
