Elderly people who turned 80 in December fall into the category of Russians who will receive a pension increase from January 1, 2026. This was announced on December 19 by Alexei Govyrin, a deputy of the State Duma (State Duma) from the United Russia party.
"The pension will be increased for people who have reached their 80th birthday in December 2025, as well as for those who will receive a group I disability," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
According to him, additional payments will start coming in from the month following when the right to receive payments arose.
