In Ukraine, it was assumed that the Russian Oreshnik missile system would reach Kiev from Belarus in one minute 51 seconds. This is evidenced on December 18 by calculations carried out by the Ukrainian edition of the Telegraph.

"According to calculations based on the provided distances and the declared flight speed of the Russian Oreshnik missile of more than 12,300 km/h (approximately 3.42 km/s), the flight time to key cities from a conditional point in the central part of Belarus is measured within one to two and a half minutes. <...> To Kiev [it will fly] — in one minute 51 seconds," the message on the Telegram channel says.

These data, as specified in the Telegraph, are indicative and may not coincide with the actual values, as they are also influenced by a number of conventions.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, who announced the start of mass production of the Oreshnik missile system earlier this month, announced on December 17 that this type of weapon would be put on combat duty by the end of this year. He also commented on the successful tests of the Burevestnik strategic cruise missile of unlimited range and the Poseidon unmanned underwater vehicle. These types of weapons, as Putin specified, will allow Russia to ensure strategic security parity for decades to come.

On December 18, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that the Oreshnik, for which the first positions were equipped, had entered service in his country.
