- The prosecutor's office requested 15 years in prison for the woman who organized the murder of her mother-in-law
The prosecutor's office has requested a 15-year sentence in a general regime penal colony for Anna Boyarova, who, along with her daughter and a roommate, organized the murder of her former mother-in-law in the Moscow region. This was announced on December 18 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the hall of the Moscow Regional Court.
For the woman's daughter, Elizaveta Potapova, the state prosecution requested 9.5 years in a penal colony. The prosecutor asked them to find them guilty of murder, robbery and theft of documents, and Boyarova was also charged with involving a minor in the commission of a crime.
"I have not committed any illegal actions, I ask you to accept my sincere condolences," Boyarova said, referring to her ex—husband, the son of the murdered pensioner, who was recognized as a victim in the case.
According to the defense, the victim, not his mother, should have been the target of the murder committed by the woman's roommate. In turn, Boyarova's daughter pleaded guilty only to robbery.
According to the investigation, in March 2023, Boyarova and her roommate Andrei Suvorov decided to organize the murder of her former mother-in-law in order to obtain financial benefits. The minor granddaughter of the victim participated in the crime.
The plan of the massacre was developed for several months. On May 14, 2023, a 16-year-old girl came to visit her grandmother in Yegoryevsk, near Moscow. After waiting until nightfall, she let Suvorov into the house, who attacked the pensioner and strangled her with the assistance of Potapova.
After the murder, the man and the girl stole property worth more than 100 thousand rubles from the apartment, stole the Order of Courage belonging to the woman's spouse, and destroyed her documents. The pensioner's body was wrapped in a carpet and drowned in a pond in Voskresensk. After that, the former daughter-in-law of the murdered woman bought return tickets to Novosibirsk for her daughter and her roommate.
In St. Petersburg on December 15, a schoolboy attacked a math teacher with a knife, striking her at least three times. According to media reports, the teenager came before classes to retake a test. When the teacher turned away, he stabbed her several times in the back and chest.
The teacher's husband, Alexei, later reported that the woman had undergone surgery and was in intensive care. He noted that the child who attacked his wife was not in her class — presumably, she had been working with the ninth-grader for only four months.
On December 18, a student who attacked a teacher was charged in St. Petersburg with committing a crime under Part 3 of Article 30, Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Attempted murder"). The investigation also charged the school's security guard under Part 1 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Provision of services that do not meet safety requirements").
