The carbon-neutral Red Book of the region was presented in Murmansk. So far, this is the first and only such publication in Russia, which was released without harm to the environment.

The unique print run was 500 copies. The updated edition reflects the latest adjustments. For example, the number of protected animal species has decreased from 480 to 451.

Carbon neutrality means that during the printing process, the publishing house compensated for carbon dioxide emissions by participating in environmental projects, Bi-port news agency writes.

The new book was presented at the Coordination Meeting on the Conservation of Biological Diversity in the Murmansk region. In particular, the meeting discussed the creation of a universal methodology for assessing environmental well-being.
